Do you think that if african-americans demographically voted for republican candidates that they would have had to wait 5 days for FEMA?

quote from press release by senator Landrieu D-LA:
“But perhaps the greatest disappointment stands at the breached 17th Street levee. Touring this critical site yesterday with the President, I saw what I believed to be a real and significant effort to get a handle on a major cause of this catastrophe. Flying over this critical spot again this morning, less than 24 hours later, it became apparent that yesterday we witnessed a hastily prepared stage set for a Presidential photo opportunity; and the desperately needed resources we saw were this morning reduced to a single, lonely piece of equipment. The good and decent people of southeast Louisiana and the Gulf Coast — black and white, rich and poor, young and old — deserve far better from their national government.”

Dutch viewer Frank Tiggelaar writes:
There was a striking dicrepancy between the CNN International report on the Bush visit to the New Orleans disaster zone, yesterday, and reports of the same event by German TV.
ZDF News reported that the president’s visit was a completely staged event. Their crew witnessed how the open air food distribution point Bush visited in front of the cameras was torn down immediately after the president and the herd of ‘news people’ had left and that others which were allegedly being set up were abandoned at the same time.
The people in the area were once again left to fend for themselves, said ZDF.

2 girls–Nice clean clothes- a white shirt– been in New Orleans for 5 days—just went hru HELL– Urine –feces–dead bodies floating around
Aaron Brown interviewed them, they said they’ve had water, ice and food the whole time. Got electricity back today. Said they came to Biloxi to look for clothing.WERE they LOOTING ? Never said where they came FROM. Had no idea what the hell was happening, and started out the interview with a clearly rehearsed spiel about how great they feel now that Bush is there.
CNN transcript
“BROWN: Before you met with the president today — and our viewers are seeing that now — before that, were you a little angry with the government and how the government had responded?
BRONWYNNE BASSIER, SURVIVOR: But, no, I wasn’t angry at the situation, because I knew eventually they will eventually help us in some sort of way. And, like my sister said, he did reassure us that things were going to happen. And I can see that they are happening, because I am in Gautier. And every day, there’s people giving us water and giving us ice and telling us that everything is going to be OK.
Like today, Pascagoula and Ocean Springs got electricity. And they said it’s just a matter of hours before Gautier gets electricity, too.
BROWN: But — so, the situation for you in Biloxi isn’t comparable, is it, to the situation for the people in New Orleans.
Have you been able to follow that part of the story at all? Are you aware of what it’s been like there?
B. BASSIER: Well, today, the actually — the only reason why I came to Biloxi was because I need to get some clothes for my son and clothes for myself, because I don’t have any clothes. And, you know, I just needed to see if I can salvage something down there.”
Couldn’t have been staged right?

FEMA says no one in in LA gov’t asked for help.
“FEMA Director Michael Brown also raised Maestri’s ire when he said in a television interview Friday that he waited so long to respond because he didn’t want to interfere with local aid attempts, and that local officials hadn’t asked FEMA to come in.”
